About Phil Glassey

Kia ora.

I am a retired engineering geologist and have lived in Dunedin for 35 years. I  worked for GNS Science in the fields of landslide, earthquake, and tsunami hazard and risk reduction, geomorphic processes, and social science related to energy use and critical minerals. I was also involved in investigations into South Dunedin groundwater.

I bring my knowledge to ensure that the natural environment, land use, and the resources on which livelihoods are based are resilient to the forces of nature, including climate change.

35+ years of experience in natural hazard and risk reduction
